GBA’s Impact on Community Recreation
Project Overview
To align with the City of Shawnee’s priorities of providing quality recreational opportunities and fostering an active community, Wilder Bluff Park was developed as a capital improvement project on a 40-acre green space located near the intersection of 55th Street and Belmont Drive.
This project, funded by the Parks, Pipes, and Pavement Sales Tax, began in 2019 and was completed in 2020. The park was named by the Monticello Historical Society in recognition of the nearby Wilder Township. Public engagement efforts included open house meetings and collaboration with students from Riverview Elementary during the conceptual design phase.
As part of the Confluence team, GBA contributed site investigations, civil engineering design, and environmental and land surveying services to the project.
