Innovative Logistics Hub and Warehouse Design
Project Overview
With a vast network of service centers, FedEx Freight offers efficient and reliable shipping solutions for businesses of all sizes. Delivering an average of 6.2 million packages a day, FedEx leverages advanced technology and innovative logistics to deliver exceptional customer service and meet diverse shipping needs. As an industry leader, FedEx Freight plays a crucial role in facilitating commerce and connecting businesses across North America.
For this project, GBA provided Architect of Record services based on FedEx standard prototype drawings for a new 26,810 SF, 38-door FedEx Freight Service Center and warehouse in Topeka, KS. The center includes approximately 4,810 SF of office space to house support and operations personnel, including a meeting room/storm shelter.
Also included was a 2-door vehicle service bay occupying 2,080 SF of space at the east end of the service center and a standalone 192 SF Lube Building. These buildings were designed based on pre-engineered metal building components, including structural frame, walls and roof, with the exception of the office area, which had tilt-up concrete exterior walls.
The project also included a modular Guard House structure (approx. 104 SF with canopy).
